Hyalite 30+KM - Bozeman CVB

Hyalite 30+KM

Hyalite Canyon serves as the recreational hub of Bozeman. The Forest Service’s winter trail system provides endless miles of cross country skiing—both groomed and ungroomed—throughout the canyon. Most of the 30 km of groomed trails here are better suited to classic skiing due to narrow sections. (However, skiing from Moser Trailhead to Mystic Lake or into Sourdough Canyon is excellent skate skiing.) The Custer-Gallatin National Forest provides the primary grooming, with assistance from the Bridger Ski Foundation. The grooming here is intermittent. Check grooming reports (www.bridgerskifoundation.org/grooming) for updates.

No bikes on groomed trails in Hyalite during the winter, per Forest Service Regulations.

Parking areas include: History Rock, the Reservoir Day Use Area, Blackmore, and others.
