Our place is your place! Located on the revitalized, historic east end of Bozeman's Main Street, our 8000 sq. ft. building has seen a century of action. Originally a warehouse owned by the railroad, we thought this cool and funky old building had so much character it should live on as our dream - a bar, restaurant, local hang out for the whole community.

So we took it over and turned it into, what is in our opinion, the best bar and eatery around. So swing in, grab a beer, a bite to eat and tell us how we're doing. Our extensive menu of thoughtfully-crafted, artfully-plated upscale comfort food is all Montana - uncommon yet approachable, inventive yet simple, substantial, gutsy and prepared from scratch with creativity, energy, and the freshest ingredients.Experience our impressive selection of distinctive appetizers, salads, pasta, fish, steaks, beef and bison burgers, homemade soups and desserts.

Try our buffalo potstickers, grilled mahi fish tacos, spinach pecan salad, signature pepper-parmesan fries, barbeque ribs or gorgonzola pasta.Plus, every night our chef creates an array of sensational specials at an affordable price. You'll be surprised and satiated and are sure to walk out our doors feeling better than when you walked in!Visit our website to sample our menu and gather more information.

Friends who live locally suggested this place. It does get busy and is recommended to call ahead of time. Does have a decent amount of seating but was very busy. The lights above our table kept flickering which made it seem like they were dimming the lights and then turning them back on. The food was amazing! There were no complaints from anyone in our group. They also had some unique drinks I haven’t seen anywhere else such as the spicy pickle martini.

Montana Ale Works checks all the boxes - great food, extensive menu with a range of prices, great cocktails and beer selection, beautifully restored former freight house -- only knock against it is the noise level in this large busy restaurant which is why it took my inlaws so long to take us here - tough to have a conversation. We started out with drinks and apps - bison dumplings and matchstick truffle fries. The Old Faithful cocktail was a standout and the apps were awesome. They also have an extensive beer list. We had some of the specials (Alaskan Halibut and a huge pork chop), the fish tacos and the buttermilk chicken sandwich. Prices for entrees start around $20 so this place really can be experienced affordably which is nice for repeat visits. You can get everything from a salad to enchiladas to steak to fish to burgers. Even the pickiest eater can find something they'd like. Usually we skip desert when dining out but this was a wedding anniversary dinner so we indulged - creme brulee, brownie with ice cream --- all great. Service was good also. Another plus is the large solar array on the roof. Any business committed to lowering their carbon footprint gets a thumbs up from me!

We had a big group come in from out of town and we had called a couple days in advance to get a reservation. When we showed up, it was as if they were not expecting us as they put us at 4 different small tables “within the same area”. This was a huge bummer for us as we didn’t get to socialize or really eat with one another. Thankfully our waitress and the food made up for this disappointment. Our waitress was so kind and personable. My husband and I got the risotto which was alright and the chicken sandwich which was the best one he has ever had. We had the house made tots which were delicious, the Tri tip appetizer, also great, full of flavor, and the cheesecake and creme brûlée, both of which we would recommend. We also had the huckleberry mule which was so tasty as well! The atmosphere was great! Active and social, different types of seating and it was not too loud to where you couldn’t hear. I’d recommend checking out this place if you’re in town!

It was one of our stops during a 5000 km road trip in WA, MT and ID and this was the best food we had in those 8 days. Everything was very tasty, our host was amazing, great interiors and wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend to try this if you are travelling to Bozeman
